Alkaline Diet Tips To Eliminate Heartburn

After Christmas season every year, the number of people that suffer from acid reflux & heartburn increase drastically. With Easter around the corner, perhaps it’s time you learnt how to prevent these problems from occurring. In this article, I am going to give you 5 tips for an alkaline diet which will allow you to steer clear of these problems once and for all:

1. There are very few people who know the advantages of drinking simple lemon juice. It is alkalizing in nature. Just remember to dilute it with water though. You can squeeze a quarter of a lemon into around 300 ml of water for a great detox drink in the morning. Repeat this in the afternoon in order to keep your energy levels high and prevent dehydration. Don't wait for your mouth to get dry, by that time it will already be too late.

2. Dried wheatgrass is another ingredient you can mix with water for a healthy solution to acid reflux & heartburn. In fact, wheatgrass is quickly making a name for itself as a super food simply because it is highly alkalizing, cheap and can be purchased from almost anywhere. Just mix half a tea spoon with water and gradually increase the quantity till you start consuming a full tea spoon. Wheatgrass is a wonderful detox but ensure you take it slow or you may face some negative detoxing symptoms.

3. You should relax your mind during this period as well. There is nothing which can adversely affect your body more than negative thinking. Negative thinking damages your body even more than eating unhealthy food. It also lowers your lifespan significantly. So don't ignore this problem, tackle it at the source instead. Quieten your mind, relax, and take up yoga. Just don't be stressed all the time.

4. Exercise is great for detoxing as well. Gentle exercise for 20 to 30 minutes can go a long way in ensuring you remain healthy and never have to deal with heartburn or acid reflux. There are quite a few different exercises you can take up. Find one which you enjoy and ensure you work out regularly.

5. And lastly, get rid of any and all caffeinated drinks from your diet. But ensure you do so gradually as you wouldn't want to have to deal with any of the side effects of detoxing too quickly now would you? Replace coffee or tea with green tea for the best results. Don't think decaffeinated drinks will help either as the process of decaffeination in itself causes acidity.
